Every year I’m hoping that it will be better than the previous year and 2018 owes me nothing. I won’t complain, trials did come but only to make me stronger. I won’t dwell too much on the negative, only the positive.
August 5, 2018 marked my one year blog anniversary. Things are getting off to a great start. I was actually featured on NY and Company three times and twice with Gabrielle Union. Several small businesses have reached out to me and sent me free products to promote it on my IG site and my favorite of all, a contract with thegreekpainter1908.com, (paraphernalia for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority).
With all of that being said, I am still my worst critic but I’m a work in progress. I consider myself to be a very confident person and I don’t have insecurities when it comes to my appearance but I do have them. I almost didn’t post a picture on my social media page because I was like “OMG, my stomach is huge” lol I like posting my pics without filters because that is the real authentic me and what you see is what you get. While my stomach protrudes more than some but less than some too lol, I have far too many other things that I absolutely love about “the picture”. I love my long legs, there is nothing that I love more than being tall, I love my hair, my smile, my eyes, lips, nose, and I can go on and on but I still was gonna let that one little thing stop me from posting “the pic”. I know, crazy right? Yes, it is. Moral of the story, no one is perfect and I want to show other women and young girls that you can embrace your imperfections because there are definitely more good things about you than there are things that you dislike. I’m sure it’s some people out there that are struggling to lose weight that wouldn’t mind having this pudgy stomach, we can poll the people on the tv show ” My 600 pound life”. Society and social media have given a false idea that you have to be “perfect” and that false idea includes having no imperfections and we all know that’s not humanly possible. I don’t want any one thinking I have it all together because in fact I don’t and it’s okay. But I definitely know my angles and how to camouflage my problem area and ain’t nothing wrong with that 🙃
So if you’re wondering what “the picture” looks like, here it is, I shared it for the world to see 😬
Thanks for visiting and remember to love yourself as you are.
